The formula is short enough to do on a napkin, which is presumably why no casino prints it: expected loss = average bet × bets per minute × minutes × house edge. Bet $2 on a 1% game at ten bets a minute and the maths says you are paying about $12 an hour — roughly cinema pricing, if the cinema occasionally paid you back and occasionally charged triple. The same $2 at the same pace on 4.5% slots costs $54 an hour, and on 7% keno, $84. Identical bet, identical minutes, wildly different bill: the edge and the speed are doing all of the work.

Speed is the underrated half. Crypto originals resolve in a second or two, so 10–20 bets a minute is a relaxed pace and 60 is possible on autobet. A "small" $1 bet at 30 rounds a minute is $1,800 an hour of turnover — $18/hour on a 1% game before variance even enters the room. Slot spins run 8–15 a minute with a far worse edge. No — it is the long-run average. A single session can end anywhere from a big win to several times the expected loss. But average many sessions together and the total tracks the formula closely; the edge never misses over volume, only over single evenings.
